Im a flag marshal for motorbike racing. Im one of those guys that assists riders when they crash or break down. Risky, but love it! On this track I go to the the riders often take it up just over 200 km/h (124 miles an hour) There was a serious crash last year where a bike crashed doing 180 km/h (111 miles an hour) into a guide rail. The rider himself was flung over and along the guide rail.... through a wire mesh fence into the head of a another flag marshal then resting another 10 metres away. Over all he had been thrown well over 150 metres.
He suffered multiple compound fractures and nearly lost an arm. He was a common australian superbike racer. His riding days are over. As for the flag marshal he suffered brain damage and still to this day he gets dizzy spells.
The bike he crashed surprisingly was sold and now it still races at the same track under different colours. It doesn't get ridden very fast anymore. (wonder why)
